What our covers are made of, how to look after them, and where our information stops.

Where our information stops

We publish a material only where our supplier states one. Ten of our twelve products publish a material; two do not. On those two we would rather say nothing than guess — email support@beavdirect.com and we will ask.

The materials currently published across the range are polyester, synthetic fibre, plastic and leather.

Polyester and synthetic fibre

The workhorse of car covers: light, hard-wearing, and it dries quickly.

Care. Shake the loose hair out first — a lint roller does more than a wash for day-to-day. Where the supplier states a wash method we print it on the product page; two of our products carry one. Air dry rather than tumble.

Expect variation. Woven colour differs slightly between batches, and it will not match your screen exactly.

Leather

Care. Wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry it straight away. Do not soak it and do not leave it wet in a hot car.

Expect variation. Grain and shade vary piece to piece. That is the material, not a fault.

Plastic

Care. Warm water and dish soap. Skip solvents, which can cloud the surface. Let it dry fully before folding, or you trap moisture.

On waterproofing

We quote our supplier's own word for each item rather than restating it in stronger terms. Two of our products are described as waterproof and four as breathable; the rest make no such claim, so neither do we. "Water-resistant" and "waterproof" are not the same thing and we do not blur them.
