A premium pet accessory should earn its place in your routine. A recognisable brand or a beautiful colour can draw you in, but neither tells you whether a product fits your pet, works with the gear you own or arrives when you need it. Use this checklist to compare the details before adding something to your cart.
1. Start with one everyday job
Write down what you need the item to do. For a leash, that could mean keeping your hands free on familiar walks. For a carrier, it might mean a short outing with a small pet. For indoor play, it could be a toy you use together or a tunnel your cat can explore. A clear purpose makes it easier to compare two products without buying a bundle of features you will not use.
Start with walking gear, carriers and travel gear, or play accessories.
2. Compare the exact version
Check the selected size, colour and quantity, then read what is included. A photo may show coordinating accessories that are sold separately. Similar product names can refer to different sizes or generations. Keep the specific variant in view when comparing another retailer’s listing; a lower price is only a useful comparison when it buys the same item.
3. Make fit measurable
Compare your pet’s measurements with the chart for that particular product. Do not carry a size label such as “small” from one brand to another. With a carrier, check usable space and the maker’s stated limits, not just the outer dimensions. For a leash, check length, attachment points and compatibility with the harness you already use.
If two measurements disagree or a necessary limit is missing, pause and ask before buying. Our dog harness guide and carrier guide explain the questions to check.
4. Look beyond the first photograph
Look for close views of fasteners, openings and surfaces you will clean. Read the listed materials and care instructions. Consider how the item will be stored between uses and whether its cleaning routine is practical for you. A polished photograph does not establish fit, durability or suitability on its own.
5. Compare the delivered total and the whole journey
Check currency, delivery charges and the final checkout summary. At Trundil, prices are shown in Canadian dollars. Our current US sourcing route has two stages: supplier delivery to our receiving warehouse, followed by onward delivery to your Canadian address. The onward estimate is not the total time from ordering.
Read the specific product’s delivery information and our Canada delivery guide. If you need an item for a particular date, check before placing the order. Review return conditions before trying or using the item, and contact us before sending anything back.
6. Build a useful cart
Add a second item when it serves a separate need or works with something you already own. Check for overlapping accessories before buying two kits. A shipping offer can be helpful, but compare the cost of the extra item with the shipping you would save. You do not need to spend more simply to reach a threshold.

A final check before checkout
- Right product, size, colour and quantity?
- Measurements and intended use checked?
- What is included and how to clean it clear?
- Total price, delivery estimate and return conditions understood?
If one detail is unclear, ask Trundil on WhatsApp. Send the product name, selected size or colour and the detail you want to compare. We can help check the listing before you choose.
